PM condoles death of Amar Singh’s father

Noida : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Monday condoled the death of Harish Chandra Singh, father of Amar Singh, Rajya Sabha MP and general secretary of the Samajwadi Party.

In a statement released here, Singh said: “The tragedy of losing an elderly person of the family is difficult to bear. The sense of loss is very overpowering for the kith and kin and all those who were close to him sharing his vision and values. In this hour of grief I stand by Amar Singh and other members of the bereaved family.”

Harish Chandra, 82, breathed his last at Noida’s Fortis Hospital. Popularly known as ‘Babuji’, he was admitted to the hospital following a suspected kidney problem.

Harish Chandra is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter – Amar Singh, Arvind Singh and Sudha Singh.
