Yerevan, Armenia ; Armenia’s election chief says results show Prime Minister Serge Sarkisian has won the presidency, Ap reported.
Garegin Azarian says a complete preliminary count shows Sarkisian with nearly 53 percent of the vote _ enough to avoid a runoff against opposition candidate Levon Ter-Petrosian. Azarian says Ter-Petrosian received about 21 percent.
