Buenos Aires : The Arab foreign ministers and their South American counterparts concluded their two-day meeting here to prepare for the upcoming summit scheduled to be held in Qatar later this year.

The foreign ministers agreed that the next Arab-South American summit, the second since the 2005 Brazil summit, be held in Qatar in the fourth quarter of the year at a date to be proposed later.

On political issues, a declaration issued at the end of the meeting touched on the situation in Iraq, saying that national conciliation remains the cornerstone for stability and security in Iraq.

They also rejected all forms of violence in Iraq, along with refusal of foreign interference in the internal affairs of Iraq.

On economic and trade issues, the joint statement, called the Buenos Aires Declaration, agreed on the need to take all necessary efforts to remove barriers standing in the way of greater economic and trade cooperation.

They expressed satisfaction over the positive developments and the increase of trade exchange between the two regions since the last summit, and said the two regions would work closer to cement cooperation in trade areas.
