London : The UK Government has endorsed the European Union observation mission finding on Pakistan election declaring the national polls to be completely fair despite procedural problems.
Foreign and Commonwealth Office South Asia media spokesperson Natasha Khan said the UK Government extends felicitation to the people of Pakistan for exercising their right at the ballot box and their refusal to allow violent extremism to prevent democracy taking its course.
“They have given Pakistan a unique opportunity to carry through the democratic transition to build and secure a prosperous future,” she said.
The statement on Wednesday expressed the hope the moderate political parties seize this opportunity to meet political, economic and development challenges Pakistan faces.”
Pakistan leaders can also work together to tackle the threat of violent extremism. The UK Government looks forward to working closely with the new government once it forms.”
