New Delhi : India’s wholesale price index rose 4.35 percent for the week ending Feb 9 compared to 4.07 percent and 4.11 percent in the preceding weeks, data released Friday showed.
The inflation rate stood at 6.52 percent during the corresponding week last year.
During the period, prices of food articles such as fruits and vegetables, condiments, spices, fish, arhar, bajra and barley rose, the data showed.
The wholesale price index data is released weekly and considered the benchmark inflation indicator in the country.
