Bhopal : The Madhya Pradesh Government has constituted the sixth State Pay Commission, which is to be headed by retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer A K Agrawal.
The Commission would submit its report by Dec 31 to the state government. The General Administration Department issued orders to this effect Saturday, an official release said.
The Commission would examine the principles of fixing salary structure, allowances and other facilities for the employees of state government, local bodies, various institutions constituted by the state government and the institutions funded by the grant of the state government.
The commission would fix the relativity in the pay scales for different services to attract efficient people to services concerned.
The issues to be considered by the Commission include the need for maintaining separate salary allowances and service conditions of the employees. It would also suggest measures for converting the state government’s institutions into modern and professional institutions.
The Commission would also give suggestions to make service provider institutions accountable to the representative institutions of local community and the employees citizen friendly.
While making its recommendations, the State Pay Commission would keep in view the financial condition of the state, efficient management of state’s public finance, demand for the state’s financial resources in view of economic development needs and other related factors.
The government has vested the State Pay Commission with the powers to determine its own functioning and to gather necessary information and evidence which it may need.
On the demand of the Commission, the different departments of the state would provide necessary information, documents and other assistance and staff.
