London : Environmental protestors Wednesday scaled the roof of the houses of parliament in London in a demonstration against plans to expand Heathrow airport.
At least six activists, men and women, sent paper aeroplanes flying from the roof to symbolise their protest against the planned construction of a third runway at Heathrow.
The demonstrators, from the group Plane Stupid, said they would try to stay on the roof until Prime Minister Gordon Brown arrived at the Commons for Prime Minister’s Questions at noon.
It was believed that the protestors entered the House of Commons Wednesday this morning through the public entrance, where they would have passed through airport-style security.
