BJP national council to meet in Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to hold the meetings of its national council and the national executive here Jan 27-29, party sources said Wednesday.

The BJP was earlier contemplating holding their meetings in Bangalore in order to give a fillip to its election campaign in the Karnataka state elections.

Under the BJP constitution, the national executive meets every three months and the national council at least once a year.

The coming national council meeting is expected to adopt the proposal of a committed led by general secretary Sushma Swaraj to reserve 33 percent of party posts for women, a BJP leader said.
