India, Israel establishes mechanism to share intelligence information on regular basis

NEW DELHI, (APP): India and Israel have established a mechanism to share intelligence information on regular basis.

Media reports quoting defence sources said Director General of Israeli Defence Ministry Brig. Gen. (retd) Pinchas Buchris held lengthy

sessions with top Indian military leadership to explore ways and means to enhance close cooperation in view of what they called stepped up

Al-Qaida activities in the region The Israeli Director General met Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor, Naval Chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta, Air Force Chief Fali Homi Major and Defence Secretary Vijay Singh.

He also held meetings with Indian National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and Deputy National Security Advisor Shekhar Dutt.

The sources said Buchris, who is heading a 6-member high level defence team arrived in Indian capital to attend a meeting of the joint working group of two countries on defence cooperation. The matters relating to joint production of Pythen quick reaction missile were also dicussed.

The sources said the Indian Cabinet Committee on Security has recently given nod to Rs. 10,000 crore deal for joint production of Pythen quick reaction missile in India for Indian Air Force.
