Islamabad : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has congratulated Myanmar on its Independence Day. In felicitation message to Chairman State Peace & Development Council, Union of Myanmar Senior General Than Shwe, he said: ”It gives me great pleasure to extend our warmest felicitations on the happy occasion of Independence Day of Union of Myanmar.
”Pakistan and Myanmar enjoy close and friendly relations. I am confident that mutually beneficial ties between our two countries will be further strengthened in the years ahead,” he stated.
Pakistan Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro also sent felicitation message to General Thein Sein, Prime Minister of Union of Myanmar on his country’s Independence Day.
Soomro extended sincere greetings to Myanmar nation on behalf of people and government of Pakistan. He said: ”Pakistan and Myanmar enjoy cordial and cooperative relations. I am confident that friendly ties between our two countries would be further strengthened in years to come.”
