Hanoi : The Vietnamese Anti-Drug Police Department (DPD) issued an alert because of the international drug-trafficking attempts to extend its activities in this country.
Starting from this situation, the Anti-Drug Police Department decided to intensify international cooperation in this field, and diversify the methods of investigation.
This Vietnamese Public Health entity informed that between the 184 drug-traffickers arrested in 2007, there are citizens from Lao, Cambodia, China, Singapore, US, Australia, Thailand and Malaysia, each of them with different operation mode, communication and infiltration strategies.
Complex investigations made possible to determine ground routes were the most used, when they covered from 60 to 70 percent of the total drug transported volume.
The DPD report added that drugs were found hidden in the shoes, dissected animals, electronic toys, computers and food, besides resorting to dangerous ingestion method.
