TOKYO, Jan 8 (Bernama) — Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura said that Japan believes that the North Korea has got to take a political decision and present full data on all nuclear programmes, Russia’s Itar-Tass news agency reports Tuesday.
The Minister said there would be no progress in resolving the problem unless North Korea takes a political decision in order to make public full and accurate declaration about the content of nuclear programmes it has available.
Christopher Hill and Kenichiro Sasae, the chief delegates of the United States and Japan at the six-country talks on the nuclear problem on the Korean Peninsula, during their consultations here, had also pointed out the importance of North Korea’s providing exhaustive and accurate data on all nuclear programmes.
The US diplomat refuted Pyongyang’s assertions that the North Korea had informed the US of the content of its activities in the nuclear sphere way back in November. Hill said the information given was not complete and had considerable gaps in it.
Hill leaves for Seoul later Tuesday to carry on consultations with the South Korean partners on prospects for a settlement of the nuclear problem of the DPRK.
Then he plans to visit China and Russia.
Christopher Hill also announced that work to disable the nuclear facilities at the North Korean Yongbyon center was fulfilled 75 percent.
