Seoul : South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo ordered an exhaustive investigation of the tragic blast and fire that killed 40 persons in a warehouse in Icheon city.
The disaster took place on Monday in a three-floor warehouse in that Korean locality, and included 12 fatal victims and another seriously injured from China.
Han made that decision after his visit to the site of the tragedy, 47 miles southeast of Seoul where he expressed his condolences to the victims’ families.
The chief of the government urged members of his cabinet to develop an exhaustive investigation on the causes of the tragedy and severely punish those responsible, noted Yonhap news agency.
In this context China demanded South Korean authorities establish economic compensation to the 12 victims’ families.
The chief of Beijing diplomatic mission in Seoul Ning Fikui traveled to this city to meet his mayor Che Nyung-dun demanding him for help and to adopt measures in order to avoid other tragedies.
Chinese President Hu Hintao urged to give adequate management of the situation and give the injured citizen necessary treatment and provide the victims’ families facilities to travel to South Korea.
