All possible help to entrepreneurs implementing MoUs within deadline: MP Industries Minister

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Jayant Malaiya chaired a two-day review meeting of MoUs signed with entrepreneurs for investment in Madhya Pradesh.

On the first day of the meeting, 21 MoUs worth Rs. 73,000 crore were discussed. The problems of 21 big industrial houses were solved through one-to-one meetings on the first day of the two-day meeting organised by TRIFEC. The meeting was presided over by Industries Minister Jayant Malaiya. These industrial houses have pledged to invest Rs. 73,263 crore for opening their units in Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, Malaiya said that the state government would extend all possible help to the industrial houses which establish their units within the deadline.

It may be mentioned that as many as 120 MoUs were signed at Investment Meet at Khajuraho and Destination Madhya Pradesh Global Summit at Indore last year where Industries Department and TRIFEC had signed Rs. 96,473 crore 55 MoUs. The state government is constantly reviewing these MoUs for implementing them.

Discussions were also held with Reliance Group vice-president (Corporate) Shekhar Singh. Reliance Group has pledged investments worth Rs. 50000 crore. The meeting was informed that advance possession would be given on the government land for establishment of Sason Ultra Mega Power Project to be set up by Reliance Group. A 175-acre plot of land has been earmarked for establishment of Dhiru Bhai Ambani Technical Institute at village Acharpura near Bhopal. This land would be allotted to Reliance Group by Revenue Department on the recommendations made by Higher Education Department. Reliance Group expressed gratitude for good support to their Sason-based power IPO.

Seven million tonne-capacity cement plants are being established by Messrs. Sanghi Industries at Katni with a cost of Rs. 5000 crore for which mining prospecting license has been given by the Mining Department. The company has also applied for mining license for bauxite and iron for its proposed steel plant at Sihora near Jabalpur. It was decided at the meeting to supply water and power to the plant.

Industries Minister Malaiya urged ACC for establishment of a plant. ACC officials said that they have applied for license for mining and land diversion and are giving final touches to their financial management. They also gave information about sending samples of raw material for molding of machinery to Denmark.

Messrs. Birla Corporation chairman-cum-managing director R S Lodha, while recalling his 50-year-old ties with Madhya Pradesh said that his group’s 50 per cent investment is only in Madhya Pradesh. Lodha said that his company wants to established a Rs 1200 crore project soon in the state. He sought state government’s help in providing mining lease and other applications made by the company.

Prism Cement’s managing director M Chhabra, Shri Cement’s director CR Biyani, India Cement’s vice-president I. Gopinath and Mukund Steel’s director Virendra K Mittal informed that their units have completed the initial proceedings. Investment to the tune of about Rs. 5000 crore is expected from these units.

Representatives of Ispat Industries Limited, Ind Synergy Limited , MCP Steel and Power Limited, Maan Cement. Venus Mercantile, Anjani Nandan Stell, BLS Cement, Jay Sons Company, AV Mines, Florida Infrastructure Development Limited, Rihaba Resources and Suntek Auto Component also attended the meeting.

On the second day, 33 MoUs including 18 signed by TRIFEC and Industry Department 15 by Agro Industries for food production would be taken up for discussion.

Those who solved industrialists’ problems at the meeting included Principal Secretary Industry Satyaprakash, Principal Secretary Water Resources Arvind Joshi, Principal Secretary Revenue Devendra Singhai, Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Devraj Virdi, Secretary Mines Sevaram, Industries Commissioner Deepak Khandekar and Madhya Pradesh State Industries Development Corporation and TRIFEC managing director Praveen Garg.
