New Delhi : A three-day global partnership summit beginning Jan 16 in Gurgaon on the outskirts of the capital is expected to carry forward discussions aimed at building consensus over the kind of development model the world should adopt.
The event, being organised by industry body Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the 14th consecutive year, is expected to see participation of over 1,000 delegates, including 400 from overseas.
Titled as Emerging Consensus: Inclusive and Sustainable Development, the forum will address three key issues facing the world today – development, inclusion, and sustainability – CII said in a statement Monday.
Ferenc Gyurcsany, prime minister of Hungary, will be the guest of honour while Commerce Minister Kamal Nath will chair the conference, CII said.
The global convention, now a key debate platform for India’s engagement with the world, will also be attended and addressed by a number of ministers and dignitaries from 31 countries and 2 regional groupings – Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and African Union, the statement said.
