Bangalore : Reliance mobile users would be able to access Yahoo content like news, financial and weather bulletins and photos from flickr photos, the company said here Monday.
Under an agreement between the telecom service provider and the global internet firm, Reliance customers can browse Yahoo! oneSearch to view or download web images, web content, answers and Wikipedia on their handsets, powered by WAP, Java and Brew on its CDMA and GSM networks.
“Yahoo oneSearch delivers an experience designed for mobile phone by delivering relevant results and instant answers in a user-friendly interface, anytime, anywhere without requiring computers connected to the internet,” Reliance said in a statement.
The new tie-up will enhance the search experience for consumers on their mobile phones. Yahoo mail and messenger have been part of Reliance Mobile’s suite of services over the last two years.
Yahoo’s Asian vice-president David Ko said the partnership had strengthened Reliance leadership in the mobile space in India.
“Together we will increase usage of mobile Internet services and create new revenue streams through mobile advertising,” David added.
