Islamabad : President Pervez Musharraf has said the fears of the opposition parties over the possibility of rigging in the upcoming polls may create problems afterwards.
Musharraf stated this while addressing newsmen, editors and writers here on Friday.
Fears about rigging even before polls are unjustified, he said.
President Musharraf said no one would be allowed to disturb the law and order situation in the country before or after the upcoming elections.
Dismissing fears over the possibility of rigging, President once again expressed his firm resolve to hold a fair and free elections in the country on 18th of February.
President Musharraf said he had no intention of meeting any political leader before the polls. He, however, added he would meet leaders after elections for the formation of the next government with national consensus.
President also brushed aside reports that he would meet P-M-L-N leader Mian Shahbaz Sharif in London.
Calling Benazir Bhutto’s assassination an irrecoverable national loss, President Musharraf said the Scotland Yard investigation team was already probing into the case and that a final conclusive report should be waited for.
President Musharraf added that the country did not need foreign aid for the safety of its nuclear assets and the fears of the international community over the issue were entirely baseless.
