New Delhi : The Indian Government is likely to hold a crucial meeting over the weekend to decide on hiking fuel prices and duty rationalisation.
“Thursdays Group of Indian Ministers (GoM) meeting to decide the issue was inconclusive but the meeting did discuss some proposals and I hope the GoM and government will decide on raising the prices,” Indias Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deroa told reporters at Delhi Friday. “It has been the governments effort to ensure that consumers are not burdened too much and the issue of losses of our oil companies are also addressed,” Deora said. The GoM is likely to meet again tomorrow or day after tomorrow to decide on the issue, the minister said, adding, “I can assure that there would be no scope for citizens to complain.”
