Mumbai : In a surprise move, Indian selectors Sunday dropped former captains Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly from the One-Day International (ODI) team that will play in a triangular series in Australia.
Piyush Chawla and his Uttar Pradesh teammate Suresh Raina have made a comeback to the 16-member squad.
Another unexpected omission has been of the left arm spinner Murli Karthik, who gave a stellar performance with the ball during Australia’s tour to India last November.
Following is the squad as announced by the BCCI:
M.S. Dhoni (captain and wicket keeper), Sachin Tendulkar, Virendra Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh (vice captain), Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa, Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, S. Sreesanth, R.P. Singh, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Kartik, Piyush Chawla and Pravin Kumar.
