Deshmukh to woo investors in Switzerland, Germany

Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will leave Wednesday on an eight-day visit to Switzerland and Germany to participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos and to woo western investors to the state.

He will participate in two discussions at Davos on “Making India an International Financial Centre” and “The True Value of Water”, a state government spokesman said Monday.

Deshmukh will meet local industrialists Thursday. Next day he will take part in a discussion on urban infrastructure facilities and meet high-ranking officials of the Unit Credit Group.

He will leave for Zurich Jan 26 and spend a day there before departing for an investors’ meeting in Berlin. Deshmukh will visit several industrial units there.

Later, he will visit the Hanover Business Centre and the Volfsburg Volkswagen factory before returning home Jan 30.
