Ramallah : A Palestinian militant was killed in Israeli army’s operation in northern West Bank city of Tulkarem on Monday, Palestinian witnesses said.
They said that the slain was 25-year-old Ibraheem al-Basha, a commander from the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement.
More than 15 armored vehicles and a bulldozer stormed Tulkarem’s eastern neighborhood of Thanaba, where al-Basha’s house locates, witnesses said, adding that Israeli army exchanged fire with al-Basha after the latter refused to surrender.
Israeli army sent a robot to shot down al-Basha and dragged the body outside the house, which was partly demolished by Israeli bulldozer, witnesses said.
They added that Israeli army also arrested seven of the dead’sneighbors before withdrawal.
Israeli sources said that an Israeli soldier was moderately wounded in the clash.
