Electrotherm India bags Turkish order for furnaces

Ahmedabad : Engineering firm Electrotherm India Ltd has bagged orders worth $14 million to design, manufacture and supply furnaces to Turkey.

It will also supervise erection and commissioning of the induction-melting furnaces, the company said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange thursday.

The orders also include manufacture and supply of electrical and cooling systems and other equipment.

An ISO 9001:2000 certified company, Electrotherm has its 90,000 sq metre plant at Palodia on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

The company says it is only Indian player to offer turnkey services for setting up medium-sized steel plants and the only company in India manufacturing melting equipments as per European standards.

The company has diversified into producing electric two-wheelers, which are sold under the name yo-bike.

It has recently entered into a pact with Ningbo Olisen Bipolar Batteries Co Ltd of China for technology transfer to manufacture special kinds of high-energy electric two-wheeler batteries.
