Indian community in Oman happy with Jet flight

Muscat : The Indian community in Oman has welcomed Jet Airways’ flight between Kozhikode and Muscat launched Wednesday.

Anil Wadhwa, Indian ambassador to Oman, along with Mohammad bin Shakir al Amri, under secretary of Oman’s civil aviation ministry, went to receive the first flight at the Muscat International Airport.

They jointly cut a cake to celebrate the landmark event.

“Life for the Indian expats has become much easier. We have more than 600,000 Indians In Oman and people need cheap and direct flights to their native places,” Wadhwa told IANS.

Vir Singh of the Indian Association expressed his satisfaction on the Jet Airways initiative of putting Oman on the priority list in the Gulf.

He hoped more Indian cities would be connected with Oman by the airlines from India.
