Tendulkar century guides India to 309/5

Adelaide : Sachin Tendulkar hit an unbeaten 124 as India made 309 for five in the first innings against Australia on the first day of the fourth and final Test match of the series at the Adelaide Oval here Thursday.

At stumps, giving Tendulkar company on the other end was Mahendra Singh Dhoni on six. Opener Virender Sehwag made 63 and V.V.S. Laxman scored 51 after India captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat. Brett Lee and Mitchell Johnson picked up two wickets each.
