Missing Piramal executive found

Mumbai : A senior executive of pharmaceutical major Nicholas Piramal India Ltd who went missing in Madhya Pradesh eight days ago has been found, a company official said Saturday.

Swati Piramal, director of the group headquartered here, told IANS that the Madhya Pradesh Police had traced Ashwini Kumar Bhat near the Chambal Valley in the state.

“He had been kidnapped by dacoits. He was found early this morning. The dacoits had mistaken him for somebody else and later passed him on to other groups,” Swati told IANS.

“The police traced Bhat after meticulously going through all the mobile network calls. The special task force set up in Madhya Pradesh rescued him. His driver was also found and seven to eight people have been arrested,” she said.

Bhat and his driver were later taken to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, she said. The executive went missing Friday somewhere near Gwalior.
