India deploys more ships and helicopters along coast to prevent Tamil tigers

NEW DELHI, Jan 28 (APP): India has deployed more ships and helicopters along its coast in the south to prevent Tamil Tigers fighting with Sri Lanka army in north Sri Lanka to sneak into its Tamil Nadu state.

Naval officials said Coast Guard ship Razia Sultana and a Boat T-60 have been positioned in the Palk Bay while speed boats had put on alert which are patrolling the entire area.

A comprehensive security plan has been prepared by Navy and Coast Guard along the coast to prevent Tamil Tigers to enter into Indian territory due to intensified fighting in Sri Lanka, media reports said.

The Indian coast guards will also prevent Indian fishermen entering into Sri Lankan waters as it had been heavily mined. Recently, Sri Lankan navy has arrested 12 Indian fishermen.

Earlier, Indian forces have installed radars along its coast to check the entry of fighter planes of Tamil Tigers into Indian territory.
