Tokyo : Japanese food companies announced a massive recall of pot pies coming from one of its factories in China, after 10 cases of food poisoning from pot pies elaborated there.
Japan Tobacco Inc assured its subsidiary JT Foods Co. would make a massive recall of the pot pies with insecticide poisoning agents, according to a report from Police, which does not specify if the food poisoning was found in China or in Japan.
On the other hand, TV networks warned not to consume that product that had gone bad and other products coming from same Chinese subsidiary.
“If somebody has the product, we recommend not to eat it and to send it back with us”, Japan Tobacco Executive Vice President Mutsuo Iwai insisted during a press conference.
Medical sources affirmed that a five-people family who ate those pies is still hospitalized, including a five-year old girl, reported like seriously ill.
Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda regretted what happened and insisted that Tokyo and Beijing face the problem.
China and Japan have had emergency situations regarding food poisoning in 2007, reason why both governments committed to adopt new technologies and stricter laws for the security of food.
