India’s best Twenty20 batsman Gambhir is back

Melbourne : India’s best Twenty20 batsman, in-form Gautam Gambhir, is back to help India extend their six-match winning streak when they lock horns in a tantalising contest against Australia here Friday.

Gambhir, back after recovering from a shoulder injury and helping Delhi to the Ranji Trophy title, has the highest aggregate for an Indian batsman as he has accumulated 290 in eight matches at an impressive aggregate of 41.43. His highest score is 75 (off 54 balls), scored against Pakistan in the final of the Twenty20 World Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa, in September last year. India won the title.

India have won their last six Twenty20 matches, including two against Australia, and will look to extend their winning spree when Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s world champions renew rivalry with the hosts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
