Islamabad : NWFP Minister for Information and Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said the situation in Peshawar is not as bad as is being portrayed by some quarters.
Talking to Geo, a wrong impression is being floated by some quarters that there is emergency like situation in Peshawar city and the residents are unable to leave their houses.
As the operation is going on against saboteurs in Tehsin Bara which is close to Peshawar city there are of course some problems adding but the situation is under control of the government.
The government has made foolproof arrangements for the security of masses, he said.
The Minister said the government is capable to deal with any untoward situation and the masses should no worry about security situation.
He said the ANP government after assuming power in NWFP has held successful talks with the Taliban and signed peace deal with them in Swat.
As for the situation in the tribal belt, it is the prerogative of the federal government.
The provincial government on its part favours talks with such people to resolve the issue through dialogue, he said.
