By News Agency of Kashmir,
Jammu : Accusing state and central governments of “bowing to the pressure of the separatist and fundamentalist forces,” Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) today said that it would transfer the revoked forest land back to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) if voted to power.
“The state government is not only responsible for present situation in Jammu region but UPA government is to be equally blamed for this. The succumbed to the pressure of the separatist leadership of Kashmir and revoked the forest land order,” said BJP chief Rajnath Singh while addressing a press conference here this afternoon. He maintained that if voted to power in next assembly elections, the BJP would give back the land to the SASB.
The BJP chief, after inquiring the well-being of injured in the Bhaderwah protest incident at the Government Medical College (GMC) alleged that the state government had revoked the land diversion to the SASB with the consent of the UPA government at the centre.
“Today democracy, secularism and civility are under serious threat in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a result of the Congress approach and policies since independence that the Hindu minority has been thrown out of the Valley,” he further alleged.
He further alleged, “The minority Congress led government had no moral or legal right to cancel the land allotment order. This government has lost its confidence among public.” He demanded that the revocation of land allotment order should be withdrawn with immediate effect, adding “The due share of Jammu people should be given them and delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir should be started at the earliest.”
“The coalition partners-Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – has politicized the issue for vote bank politics and they are responsible for present crisis in the state,” he blamed. However, he apprehended that it was part of “major conspiracy” and accused PDP and Congress of adopting “communal approach” over the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). He also termed Congress as “most communal” party of the country.
Reiterating the demand of abrogation of Article 370, he maintained that if voted to power with two-third majority in Parliament, the BJP would definitely scrapped Article 370. “During the past 58 years, the state has been moving from Separate Status to Separatism. We will scrap this special status if voted to power with two-third majority,” he maintained.
He also congratulated Muslim people for extending support to the ongoing “struggle” and sought more support for genuine demands of Jammu as well as the people of all over the country. “It is matter of faith and belief of millions of Hindu people. I appeal to our Muslim brethren to extend their support for resolving this issue,” he further maintained.
He, however, declared that the struggle will continue till the logical conclusion and assured that BJP would fight for this issue over national level.
