Al-Quds city/Ramallah : Israel Saturday denied a Palestinian report that Israeli and Palestinian negotiators would meet in Washington in ten days along with US administration representatives.
The report had quoted Nabil Abu Rdineh, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as saying the meeting was intended to give a stronger push to the peace talks between the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Israel.
However, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel later denied the report. “This is not true,” he told Deutsche Presse- Agentur (DPA in Jerusalem.
The parties have been aiming at a deal paving the way for the creation of a Palestinian state alongside Israel before US President George W Bush leaves the White House in January.
