By NNN-KUNA,

Gaza : Israel has officially confirmed the signing of a deal to exchange prisoners with Hezbollah, the Israeli radio reported.

The radio quoted sources in the Cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as saying Monday that Ofir Dekkel, the official in charge of the file of prisoners and missing soldiers, and the UN envoy Gerhard Conard have signed the deal.

According to the radio, putting the deal into effect is conditioned by other matters which have not been explicitly mentioned, a matter that reflects another Israeli view of the deal which was not revealed by the Jewish state.

It is expected, according to the radio, that Israel will receive the report on missing Israeli airman in Lebanon Ron Arad after the UN envoy receives a series of clarifications from Hezbollah.

The timetable for implementing the deal will take place after obtaining the final report on Arad and then the Israeli cabinet is be expected to hold a meeting to discuss implementation of the deal.

A Lebanese political source in Beirut has announced that Israel and Hezbollah have signed the agreement and the deal was inked by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Secretary General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah.
