Kabul : One soldier with the NATO -led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed and four others were wounded when their vehicle struck by a roadside bomb in eastern Afghan province of Kunar on Tuesday, said an ISAF statement.
“These dedicated professionals have risked their lives for a safe and stable Afghanistan,” said British Royal Navy Captain Michael Finney, ISAF spokesperson.
A total of 70,000 multi-national troops are deployed across Afghanistan under the flags of the NATO-led ISAF and the U.S.-led Coalition forces respectively for maintaining stability and helping in reconstruction.
Militancy and conflicts have claimed more than 2,000 people lives with some 700 civilians so far this year in Afghanistan.
