Panipat (Haryana) : A class 11 student of a private school was shot dead here Monday when he was on his way to school.
The victim, 15-year-old Rocky was way-laid by three assailants in this industrial city of Haryana, 100 km from Delhi.
Police officials said Rocky was killed by the assailants owing to a property dispute over the sale of some land between them and his father.
The assailants fired at the schoolboy from close range with a country-made pistol. Two of them were arrested after traffic policemen and other bystanders pounced on them after the attack.
The third assailant was injured in the firing and would be arrested after being discharged from hospital, police officials here said.
