Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Board, which governs around 1,900 seminaries in the state, is all set to get tech-savy and give the students computerised marksheets, an official said Monday.

“The board will computerise the results of the madrassa students and will issue computerised marksheet to them,” board registrar Shoaib Ahmad told IANS.

Until now, the madrassa students were issued type-written certificates and marksheets.

Around 170,000 students studying in seminaries across the state would be able to avail the computerised results from now on, he said.

“The government has agreed to provide us financial assistance for the computerisation exercise. Under the first phase of the financial grant, the board will receive over Rs.13 lakh (Rs.1.3 million),” the official added.

Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Board was set up in 1914. At that time it functioned under the name of Arabic-Persian Registrar Board. In 2007, the government granted it the status of an education board.
