Beirut : Hezbollah chief Hasan Nasrallah said Wednesday that his main concerns are the liberation of the rest of the occupied Lebanese land and freeing Palestinian and Arab prisoners jailed in Israel, Al-Manar TV reported.
“We are ready for any discussion that leads to the liberation of Shebaa farms and Kfarshouba hills,” Nasrallah said during a popular parade welcoming the five prisoners released in a prisoner swap with Israel on Wednesday.
“Our concern is to defend our people and our land,” Nasrallah said.
He called on Arab nations to help the Palestinians free over 11thousand Palestinian and Jordanian prisoners.
Nasrallah said Hezbollah resistance should be generalized in the Arab world “even if terrorist states” list them on their terrorist list.
He expressed appreciation for the UN envoy who helped strike the swap deal with Israel, and thanked UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for his efforts.
He described the negotiations with Israel on the prisoners issue as “tough and hard.”
The swap, named “Operation Al-Radwan” by Hezbollah after the nick name of the assassinated Hezbollah senior official Imad Moghnieh who was blown up in Damascus last February, was celebrated Wednesday as the “divine victory” by the Lebanese Shiite group.
Israel handed over to Hezbollah, under a UN-sponsored deal, five Lebanese prisoners and 12 bodies in return for the bodies of two Israeli soldiers captured in July 2006.
Earlier, Nasrallah made a rare appearance at the public celebration and made a brief statement when he hugged and kissed the prisoners.
But he pulled out of the ceremony for security reasons and later gave the speech via large screens to the tens of thousands of his supporters who had gathered for the celebrations for released prisoners.
