Court notice to Delhi varsity over lecturer’s temination

By IANS,

New Delhi : Delhi High Court Friday issued notice to Delhi University and Shyam Lal College for illegally terminating the services of a Hindi lecturer.

Justice S.N. Aggarwal issued notice to the Delhi University and the college to reply by Aug 12 over allegations levelled against them by Hindi lecturer Prem Prakash Sharma.

Sharma, who was terminated from the college’s services last week, moved the high court challenging his sacking.

He was working on ad-hoc basis in the college since 1998.

He claimed that the new people who were recruited by the college are not even well qualified and his termination is illegal and unconstitutional.

Sharma had written four books, two of which have been included in the syllabus of the BA course in the varsity.
