Militants tonsure two girls in Jammu and Kashmir

By IANS,

Jammu : Militants tonsured two girls, who were grazing cattle, accusing them of working with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, the police said.

The incident took place Saturday in a village in Doda district’s Gandoh area.

The two girls – Mubina and Safeena – were grazing their cattle in Bathiyas village in Gandoh, when two militants waylaid them and tonsured them. The militants said this was a punishment for working with the security forces, police sources said.

The girls rushed back to their homes and narrated the incident to their parents, who in turn informed other villagers. The matter was finally brought to the notice of the police.
