Tehran : Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Mouallem has said that Western powers do not believe in constructive talks for settlement of global issues and only think of exerting pressures to attain their goals.
The Syrian foreign minister made the remark on the sidelines of the 15th NAM ministerial meeting which opened here Tuesday.
In an exclusive interview with IRNA, he strongly backed Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities and said this is among the legitimate rights of every nation to benefit from such energy.
Highlighting regional developments, he said occupation of Iraq has been turned into the biggest turmoil in the Middle East region.
On recent developments concerning relations between Syria and the Zionist regime, he said: “Currently Turkey is engaged in indirect talks with the Zionist regime and we do our best to ensure the success of such negotiations.”
