Jaipur: In good news for the family of those detained illegally following the May 13 Jaipur serial blasts, the Jaipur police yesterday released Mohammad Sajid after keeping him in custody for more than 23 days.
Sajid, 40, runs a madrasa in Bharat Nagar, said a TwoCircles.net source in Jaipur. The police dropped him at his home and asked him to keep quiet. The police asked him to not utter a word about his time in custody and keep from meeting people from outside his family. Sajid is the first adult out of scores of Muslim detainees who has been released. Earlier, a minor who was detained by the police after the bombings was released.
It is alleged that Sajid has formerly been attached with Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) but the police could not find him involved in any anti-social activity, not to talk about terrorism. SIMI has been banned for its alleged role in spreading terrorism in India.
