Gurgaon : Top seed Isha Lakhani stormed into the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF tournament, giving a 6-2, 6-2 thrashing to the national games champion Parul Goswami here Wednesday.
The 23-year-old was flawless in her act against Goswami and next faces sixth seed compatriot Prerana-Mythri Appineni, who downed Russian Elina Gasanova 6-4, 6-4.
Third seed Ankita Bhambri was ruthless in a one-sided match against Mu-Ying Chen of Chinese Taipei, pounding her 6-1, 6-0. Ankita is next pitted against her fifth seeded sister Sanaa, who was stretched to three sets by Australian Cassandra Chan before winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The fourth seeded Rushmi Chakravarthi scored an easy 6-2, 6-1 win over Prerna Bhambri. She next meets seventh seeded Korean Sung-Hee Han, who blanked P. Venkatesha, 6-0, 6-0.
