Beijing : China stated opposition on Wednesday to US and European Union (EU) interference in Tibetan affairs, and said they are an internal issue.
Qin Gang, spokesman of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, publicly expressed the official Chinese position regarding Tibet after a summit between US and the EU.
The Tibet issue is a Chinese internal affair, a Chinese government commitment with Dalai Lama, the official stated.
The Washington and Brussels joint document expressed concern due to recent riots in Tibet and exhorted all parties to refrain from more violence.
According to appeals by Americans and Europeans on human rights, Qin Gang said that China rejects any attempt of interfering in internal affairs under the pretext of human rights and opposes double standards.
Disputes must be solved on the base of equality, mutual confidence, dialogue and cooperation, the spokesman stated.
