Mumbai : Mohammad Adeeb Shaikh, an Indian employee of an oil company in Sudan who was kidnapped along with three others but managed to escape, arrived in Mumbai Friday, his brother Amjad Ali said.

Shaikh, 22, went to Sudan in April to work for Petro Energy, which provides services to the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company (GNPOC). On May 13, Sheikh and three of his Indian colleagues – P.K. Abhilash, Biplab Biswas and Surjit Singh – were kidnapped while on their way from the Neem oil field to their residence in Heglig.

According to Ali, his brother managed to escape along with Abhilash and Biswas but they got separated while trying to find their way out of a jungle.

Shaikh reached the Indian embassy in Khartoum June 4 and officials there helped him retrieve his passport from the oil company. They flew him from Sudan to Dubai Thursday and from there he took an Emirates Airlines flight to Mumbai.
