Hanoi : Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the Vietnamese government and people will do their utmost to boost friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Turkey .
The PM made the statement while receiving the newly accredited Turkish Ambassador Ates Oktem in Hanoi on June 11.
The PM affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy to promote effective cooperation with Turkey in various areas and requested the two countries’ inter-governmental committee to meet as soon as possible in order to accelerate bilateral cooperation programmes.
PM Dung said he hoped the Turkish ambassador would serve as a bridge to boost the two countries’ political, diplomatic, economic, defence, cultural and educational cooperation.
Ambassador Ates Oktem said that in recent years the two countries’ relations have seen fine developments in bilateral and multilateral forums.
The diplomat said his country is implementing an aid project to provide medicine worth 200,000 USD for mothers and children in northern Bac Ninh province.
He also said he hoped the Vietnamese government will support the air transport cooperation programme between the two countries.
