Sao Paulo : Brazil’s football superstar Ronaldinho said that he will play at this summer’s Olympic Games in Beijing.
“I’m certain that I will be in Beijing,” the one-time World Footballer of the Year told SporTv Friday.
The 28-year-old, who has been told by his club Barcelona that he is surplus to requirements, is continuing his return from an adductor muscle injury.
“I’m am recovering from my injury and and will return healthy to the national team as soon as possible,” the midfielder said.
Brazilian football federation president Ricardo Teixeira backed Ronaldinho’s possible participation in Beijing, telling Globo television that “he is a player who can experience the fantastic Olympic Games.”
Ronaldinho was in the stands for Brazil’s scoreless draw Wednesday in Belo Horizonte against arch-rivals Argentina in a World Cup qualifier.
