Lucknow : Fifteen students were hospitalised as they fainted after having dinner in their madrassa in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad district, an official said Tuesday.
“Soon after eating fish and rice Monday night, the students started vomiting and fainted in the madrassa,” epidemic incharge V.K. Mishra told IANS. The madrassa is located in Allahabad’s Kareli locality, about 200 km from here.
He said the exact cause behind the incident in Habib Memorial Oriental School was yet to be ascertained.
A team of doctors sealed the food and other edibles provided by the madrassa, officials said.
Students from various states, including Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, are enrolled with this madrassa, officials added.
