Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh government late Saturday decided to ban Bollywood blockbuster “Jodhaa Akbar” fearing “breach of peace”.
“We have decided to ban ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ following intelligence inputs that indicated a possibility of clashes among communities,” Principal Home Secretary J.N. Chamber told IANS.
The Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai starrer, released Feb 15, has run into trouble in neighbouring Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh following protests by a section of the Rajput community alleging that it has distorted history.
Uttar Pradesh has not seen any protests against the film except one last month in Lucknow.
