Brisbane : Sachin Tendulkar top scored with 91 to help India put up 258 for nine against Australia in the second of the three-match final of the Commonwealth Bank tri-series here Tuesday.
Electing to bat, Tendulkar (121 balls, 7x4s) and Robin Uthappa 30 (49 balls 1x 4) gave India a solid opening stand of 94 runs.
Yuvraj Singh 38 (38 balls, 2x4s, 2x 6s) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni 36 (37 balls, 2x4s, 1×6) chipped in with useful contributions but India lost quick wickets.
Tendulkar, who scored his 42nd century in the first final at the Sydney Cricket Ground, carried on his good form but fell short of another century.
Nathan Bracken and Michael Clarke claimed three wickets each. Bracken gave away just 29 runs while Clarke’s spell cost 52 runs.
