Islamabad : President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro on Tuesday greeted Dmitry Medvedev on his election as new president of Russia. In his felicitation message, President Musharraf said the resounding success in elections was testimony to high confidence placed by the people of Russia in President Medvedev’s leadership and vision.
He said Pakistan and Russia enjoy cordial relations and hoped that during new president’s term, these would further strengthen.
He wished good health for President Medvedev and prosperity for the people of Russian Federation.
Prime Minister Soomro said, “Our two countries have enjoyed a close and cooperative relationship, which we would like to see further strengthened.
He said the government would work closely with Russian government to further cement wide ranging ties for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.
