Nokia signs $2 bn deal with Chinese group

Helsinki : Finland-based Nokia, the world’s largest mobile phone maker, said Friday it has signed a sales and cooperation deal with China’s leading mobile phone distributor worth $2 billion.

According to Nokia, China Postel is to buy handsets worth the amount during 2008, and the two companies would also cooperate on investments and marketing.

China Postel, a subsidiary of China P and T Appliances, currently has about 30 per cent of the Chinese mobile phone market.
